Riz has been presenting the BBC's London News since 2006, having previously been a reporter and news presenter for the BBC's regional programme Look North. She has also presented BBC Breakfast News.
Riz was one of the key figures in the coverage of 2008's London mayoral elections, picking apart reality from spin as she went head to head with Ken Livingstone and Boris Johnson in the BBC London studios.
Prior to her on-screen television career, Riz worked in the BBC for three years as a Business Adviser to the Director of Television, being named as one of the television industry's 'young hotshots' by Broadcast magazine.
She has a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Cranfield School of Business and is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, with written Arabic and basic French.
