Jason Byrne is, without doubt, one of the most exciting comedy performers currently working. Hailed by both the national press and public alike, as the ‘name’ to watch out for, he has been highlighted by both Industry and national press as the ‘must see’ comedian for the new Millennium. He has been one of the fastest selling performers at the last 8 Edinburgh Festivals, where his sell out shows have brought forth firstly a nomination for the 1998 Perrier Newcomer Award and then a much revered Perrier Award Nomination for his outstanding 2001 show. He was also winner of the 2004 Forth One Fringe Award and continues to play to packed houses throughout Ireland & the UK.
Jason’s inspired, original brand of high-energy lunacy ensures that there is no other comedian presently like him. His fast, free-wheeling style, fused with an array of offbeat props, make his act a helter-skelter of a show – where the audience are promised the ride of their lives. Can I thank you for setting us up with Jason Byrne for our conference this year. As soon as the booking was confirmed Jason was on the phone to us and took the time to listen to what our requirements were. Our MD had slight reservations due to seeing him at the Edinburgh festival and was worried how his act would fit into a corporate event. We needn't have worried!
From the minute we met with Jason and went over a few things he was very professional, could tone down his act if necessary or indeed focus on some of our people to have a bit of banter with. Jason came along to our VIP drinks reception and was very courteous throughout and had time to speak with everyone as well as the odd gag.
The actual act itself was brilliant, you could see that everyone at the tables were enjoying themselves and could relate to the jokes, stories that Jason told. The feedback I received not just from our board but from the guys themselves was that he was the best after dinner speaker we've had in the 7 years we've been doing our conference. It really was the highlight of our event! I think a good measure is that everyone was talking about it after and not one person could really remember a joke but knew that they had been laughing constantly!
I think Jason must have been enjoying himself as well because he was on for longer than anticipated and was socializing with the group into the early hours.
All in all a fantastic entertainer and would not hesitate in using him again.
