Matt James is the fresh face of contemporary gardening, bringing his passion for eco-friendly gardens and sustainability to a whole new generation of gardeners. He first appeared on our screens as the gardening expert for Channel 4's Selling Houses, which led to his own Channel 4 series.
Broadcast in 2004, The City Gardener showed people with limited space, time and cash how to transform messy back-garden plots into stylish extra rooms. The same format has been used in the US, where he has made Urban Outsiders (HGTV), and for Matt James' Eco Eden (Reef Television for UKTV Garden), where he turns natural disasters into eco-friendly gardens.
