Professor Stern is Director of Gas Research at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies and focuses on: natural gas security issues in Europe including the UK, the future of Russian gas and Gazprom, and the role of gas in the Producer/Consumer Dialogue. He is also Honorary Professor at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law & Policy, University of Dundee and holds fellowships at both the Royal Institute of International Affairs' Sustainable Development Programme; and the Department of Environmental Science and Technology at Imperial College in London. He is Chairman of the British Institute of Energy Economics and Member of the Board of Advisors, Institute for Energy, Law and Enterprise, University of Houston.
Professor Stern is an internationally known speaker and author and talks on natural gas issues in Europe and around the world. He also speaks on electricity utilities and utility strategy in liberalising markets, energy and climate change issues in transition economies.
